Teaching organic apple production through blended learning activities
Description:
The students will learn the main principles of organic apple production using a blended learning approach that involves in-class and out-of-class activities (lecture, Mentimeter, 360 videos, group discussions and scientific papers).
Intended Learning Outcomes:
- Describe the factors that should be taken into consideration when planning and establishing an organic orchard
- Explain the importance of cultivars in organic fruit production
- Describe some of the most important management practices used in organic fruit production
- Discuss the effect of management practices on the occurrence of diseases, pests and weeds

This is a 4-hour module taking place in a class the whole time. Most activities are therefore designed for the class and only a small portion is dedicated to out-of-class activities.
