The students will learn the main principles of organic apple production using a blended learning approach that involves in-class and out-of-class activities (lecture, Mentimeter, 360 videos, group discussions and scientific papers).

Intended Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe the factors that should be taken into consideration when planning and establishing an organic orchard
  • Explain the importance of cultivars in organic fruit production
  • Describe some of the most important management practices used in organic fruit production
  • Discuss the effect of management practices on the occurrence of diseases, pests and weeds
