International Business (Peer assesssment)
Description:
Students select a company via FLO's group selection tool and assume the role of a Business Development Executive. Websites are provided for students to read up on the company and its activities.
Part A.
Students read a set chapter and write a 500-word report on what they consider are the three or four key concepts of the set chapter and apply the concepts to the context of their selected company. Students submit their report using the self and peer assessment tool in FLO.
Part B.
Each student will receive two other students’ reports to review on a blind basis and will provide constructive feedback on each report in 50-100 words.
Intended Learning Outcomes:
- develop critical reading and writing skills and practice in presenting a useful and constructive argument concisely
- identify and understand specific internal and external influences that an organisation should consider when making decisions about international activities
- understand fundamental concepts and tools used in the study and practice of international business
- understand the relationship between business and globalisation
- undertake basic research to provide evidence to support a point of view on an issue

Additional information
All of the resources and supports needed should be prepared prior to the commencement of the topic.
The learning design is scalable to run with cohorts of 5 to several hundred. The peer assessment tasks require a minimum of 5 students to be effective.
Online collaboration is required for this learning design.
The learning design is suitable for a distance or blended learning environment.
